Treena's Travels

This blog was set up to journal my experience of living in Nunavut and keep friends and family up to date on these happenings. It's a wonderful place, this hideaway in the north, and I'm loving my time here. An unforgettable place with unforgettable people. I'm lucky to be here.

Temp: -28
Windchill: ?? The Weather Office isn't recognizing it (which may mean someone isn't manning the post as it's so bad at the airport I think), but the wind is gusting to upwards of 100 km/hr right now.

So how do you amuse yourself on the third day of a storm?

Well, you have to take your dog out even though it's not fit for man nor beast...

You strain to see out of windows that you can't easily see out of...

You have tea at the neighbours...

You clean up after puppy accidents...

You grumble at having your picture taken....

You goof around with friends...

You rough house with friends...

You chill out...

You check the internet, yet again, to see if the blizzard is going to keep you home from work tomorrow too...

You look out the window again and wonder at Mother Nature and all her glory.

Bahahahahahahhaha...I got to the part about checking the weather and burst out laughing. The government's Kivalliq-based weather sites must be overloaded with us blizzard-loving freaks. :D

We're in Rankin and verrrry much enjoying these days off. I swear that weather office page gets looked at about once an hour here. ;)

Please send the blizzard here. I really need a few days off of work! Living in the banana-belt of Nunavut has its benefits, but the lack of real blizzards just isn't fair!
