Well, the summer has been toasty for the past few weeks. Let me tell ya, driving around in a car with no air conditioning in +32 weather isn't much fun! I have a grand scheme to sell my car and buy something new next year. Something with air conditioning for sure! :-)
Last week we had a supper for dad for his 65th birthday; it had to be scaled down due to a death in the family but it was still a nice time.

Some of the fam sitting down to a WONDERFUL spread care of Aunt Jean
My cousin Tyler hamming it up
My cousin Dustin
Aunt Suzanne and Uncle Jack
Mom and my cousin Kiersten laughing it up over her 'creative' card playing
The next pic is of the cabin I was supposed to stay at this summer. I arrived after doing some power shopping for next two weeks only to find a note about bats on the ridgepole. I misunderstood and thought they were outside the house. Hmmm... Well, upon doing some house keeping I boiled some water and poured it and some bleach into a dishpan. Then, I transferred it to the other dishpan only to hear a blood curtling screach! Apparently I boiled a bat. So, I got the little critter covered up and took him outside to try and get him to fly away. Sigh... well it was not meant to be. He was too injured so I had to end the poor dears life. Now, between me being afraid all the other bats would attack me for killing their 'bat kin', and the young guys across the road firing fireworks at each other ('Ow, my face', 'Ow, my back') I decided to pack up and head to a hotel.
Here's a couple pics from the cabin
The outhouse
So, for now I'm staying at my cousin's place in Edm until I figure out what to do for the next couple of weeks. It's pretty disappointing though because friends were going to come stay with me at the cabin and my aunt, cousin, sister and brother-in-law were all coming down at the end of the month for a bday party for my dad. Today I'm trying to figure out what to do about that but it's not looking good. Ahhh well. Thems the breaks I guess.
