Well, it's Saturday today and it's felt like a very long two weeks. We've been sooo busy at school preparing for the Christmas concert, which was on this past Thursday night, and was a HUGE success! Our class decided to do a version of Stomp for our part of the concert; for a while it seemed like it might not work out because our attendance was pretty low due to illnesses going around, but in the end it worked out great.
Stomping our way through the Christmas concert - the kids did everyone proud!
Kristen, our teacher, and Pam the Dental Therapist working on crafts for our class
This past week has been fairly stressful as Oliver came down quite sick and I had to fly him out to a vet early this morning; hopefully, everything works out there. And as well, a member of my family is waiting for results from some tests that could be quite serious. This is when it is very difficult to be living in such a remote community, so far away from one's family. But, the holidays are coming and it will be good to get home for a while. I fly out of Baker on Tuesday afternoon and then on Saturday my family is flying out to Vegas for Christmas so that should be a good refresher. Viva Las Vegas Baby!!
Prepping the kennel for air travel in the North
Here are a couple pics of the kids playing Inuit games. The goal of the first one is to balance the stick (with a pin on the end of it) on each finger and spin it off to jab it into the mat upright. Looks easy, but not so easy as I found out. I had the band-aid to prove it!
