It has been a good weekend in Baker Lake. It started out a bit daunting with our first snowfall on Thursday morning (the 7th) but it didn't amount to anything so that was good. Last year we had snow on the 8th so we beat it by one day this year! It was kind of exciting actually; it got me in the mood for Christmas. Only 15 more weeks!! :-)
Friday night was spent playing Balderdash with friends at Tania and Chad's place. THAT is one fun game! Saturday Chad, Tania, and I went out by honda to the mouth of the Prince River. Is it ever beautiful out there. The landscape has completely changed with all of the fall colours - reds, oranges, browns, and the odd pop of yellow. Fall is definitely my favorite season. Then, I got home and turned on the TV to watch the BMO Nationals Equestirian horse jumping competetion at Spruce Meadows and our boy Ian Miller and his horse In Style took first! That's the first time in 31 years that Canada has won it. Woo hoo!! Next year I plan to be there in person. Can't wait!
So today is Sunday and I'm just doing household chores, working on a movie for the family reunion we had in the summer, and resting my very sore muscles. Bouncing around on a honda for 5 hours makes for a very stiff back and shoulders. All in all, a great weekend.
Oh, and the good news, well for me anyways, a gastro intestinal flu bug and a respiratory illness have swept the community and I didn't get either one! Knock on wood...
I'm having trouble loading pics but will do it when I can. This internet.. Grrrrrrrrrrr!!!
