Treena's Travels

This blog was set up to journal my experience of living in Nunavut and keep friends and family up to date on these happenings. It's a wonderful place, this hideaway in the north, and I'm loving my time here. An unforgettable place with unforgettable people. I'm lucky to be here.

Summer continued....

Oli in the lake in Rankin while we had an 8 hour layover between flights.

Greg, Tania, Chad and I went golfing when we got back. Golfing in the Arctic consists of rocks, sand (just smaller rocks), BUGS, and well, not a beer cart to be found. Go figure! :-)

Terri Clark sings:

'You want an answer as soon as you say a prayer. You wanna land, the moment you're in the air. Baby the livin' is all in the gettin' there.'

How true. Here are some pics from my summer. Just takin' er easy and, well, gettin' there. :-)

Hangin' with Karen at the zoo in Calgary.

I live in the Arctic and had to go to the Calgary zoo to see a Muscox... Go figure!

Feeding an orphaned calf on my Uncle Garry's farm.

Reward for apparently being a competent bottle holder (but I'm still no Kelsey!)

My cousin Kelsey showing me how it's really done! :-)

Branding day (or should I say ONE of the branding days) with Uncle Garry and Uncle Jack. More than 200 calves later...

Ahhh Alberta. Green grass and trees as far as you can see.

Hangin' with my girls, my not so little anymore cousins Kelsey and Stacey.

Spending the day rafting down the Pembina river with the 'Cougs'. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr..

Back at the home front before heading back to the North.

One of mom's many beautiful flower gardens.
